Mapex Russ Miller designed, Artist Series, Versatus 4.5″ x 14″ snare drum for sale in Leicester.
This drum is as new: It comes in it’s original Mapex box, complete with Russ Miller signed register card and black velvet bag. It’s a real stunner, but I am having to sell due to – well, an ‘oversized’ collection of snare drums!!
Mapex say: “With a balance of power and finesse, the Versatus can handle it all. It possesses sensitivity for brushes, articulation for light sticking, and control for big back beats.”
Features:
- The blended shell brings the punch and the drying character of the Mahogany with the projection and cut of maple.
- The unique size really focuses the drum and allows for a great amount of punch.
- Extra venting helps dry the resonance of the drum and effects the “Feel” due to air release.
The batter head is a Remo Fibreskin in Diplomat weight; resonant side is a stock (ambassador?) snare side. Snare wires are PureSound.
The equivalent new model Mapex Versatus drum now has an RRP of £649. The street/internet price for this one, when I bought it new, was around £499. I’m selling this example for £300!
